People use steam cleaners for two purposes. First, they want to remove dirt, mold, and other impurities from floors, walls, carpets, and other surfaces. How It Works
Steam cleaner machines spray high temperature steam onto the surface. The temperature can range up to 360°F and output pressure can range up to 150 psi. Many microorganisms cannot survive this high temperature vapor.
Then Who Needs Anti Bacterial Steam Cleaners?
You may have heard of anti bacterial steam cleaners. If all steam cleaning machines can eliminate microorganisms, why do you need specialized anti bacterial steam cleaners? The answer: high temperature alone does not kill all bacteria.
Take for instance carpet steam cleaners. These machines are carpet extractors that inject high temperature steam into carpets to quickly break down stains and residues. These carpet steam cleaners can reach operating temperatures up to 210°F. While this is efficient for softening a variety of hardened stains, it will not kill bacteria.
Even steam cleaners that reach up to 360°F cannot eliminate all bacteria. Systems with special anti-bacterial technology can kill up to 99.9% of bacteria and harmful microorganisms, more than any conventional steam cleaning machine.
